Compress the entire deck (like an accordion) until only the topmost card is visible.
All cards are dealt out into a continuous sequence.
A card can be moved onto another card immediately to its left or separated to its left by two cards IF the cards share the same suit OR rank. For example, if you have: 5 of Spades, 8 of Hearts, 3 of Clubs, 5 of Clubs; You could compress the 5 of Clubs onto the 3 of Clubs (getting rid of one card) OR you could compress the 5 of Clubs onto the 5 of Spades (getting rid of 3 cards). If you move the 5 of Clubs onto the 5 of Spades, you will be left with only the 5 of Clubs.
To compress cards, first tap one and then the other. The cards will move to fill in gaps.
The game is won when all of the cards have been compressed and only 1 card remains on the screen.
Tips & Strategies:
At the beginning of the game, find 4 cards of the same rank that are near each other, and the end of the layout. Try to get all 4 selected cards to the end of the layout. Do not cover them with any other cards until the end of the game.
How the game got it’s name:
Accordion solitaire is named after the musical instrument Accordion. The instrument is played by expanding or compressing the bellows. Likewise, the solitaire game is played by compressing the Tableau.
