Chinese and Russian Solitaire
Chinese Solitaire and Russian Solitaire are very similar to each other and to the classic game Yukon. Combining aspects of two of the most popular solitaire games – Klondike and Scorpion – these games are full of strategy and surprise.
Foundations are built up in suit from Ace to King. Tableau piles are built down in suit (Russian) or opposite colors (Chinese). Any card can be moved even if it has other unrelated cards on top of it – the cards on top simply move along with it.
The classic versions of these two games only allow Kings in empty spaces, whereas the “Easy” versions allow any card or stack into an open space. Even the easy version of Russian solitaire is very difficult to win, but both are more difficult than Yukon. On the other hand, because of the familiar opposite-color building in Chinese solitaire, I find it to be the most fun to play.
